Lactation care in the early stage of postpartum is an essential part of supporting families to nourish their baby.
Lactation consultations include:
- Assessment of your baby’s anatomy, suck and function.
- Observation of a feeding to evaluate latch, positioning, and milk transfer using a gram sensitive weight scale.
- Individualized care plan to help you reach your feeding goal including curated referrals and resources to support all elements of your postpartum recovery.
- Includes travel fee, supplies and unlimited email/text support for 1 week following the consult.
** Service area for in-home consultations is central San Diego and east county San Diego only. Initial consultation is 90 mins long. Follow up visits are often recommended and are 60 mins. Please reach out to schedule your session as soon as baby arrives.

Jenna Rubie is Registered Nurse, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Certified Innate Postpartum Care Provider with a decade of experience supporting women in their postpartum and breastfeeding journey’s. Her private practice Upheld Postpartum provides customized lactation consultations and postpartum care sessions to support new families as they nourish themselves and their babies. Informed by her own experience as a mother of two children, Jenna is dedicated to holding space for women to feel seen, supported and upheld, as every woman deserves.
